Norah has been sewing since she was a teenager, with the encouragement of her mother and grandmother.
It wasn't till many years later that Norah would again be interested in quilting. In 1987, her twin sister Nancy wanted to take a quilting class and invited Norah to go with her. Little did she know where it would lead!
Norah graduated from the University of Guelph in 1986, with a degree in Microbiology and her present day job is working for a furniture company as their Quality Assurance – Health & Safety Facilitator.
Norah is the sole owner of “Sew Little Time” – a home quilting based business started in 2001, which sells fabric, patterns, and some notions.
She added a Long Arm quilting machine with an Intelliquilter computer to her business and is accepting quilting projects from customers. At the same time she started designing quilts for Northcott fabrics in Toronto. To date Norah has designed 50 quilt patterns for Northcott. As well as designing 2015 and 2016 Row By Row patterns for quilt shops in the area.
She teaches a group of ladies each summer at the St Joseph’s Island Quilt show, which is put on by the Woman’s Institute and a group of quilters; each year in Richard’s Landing.
She also does a Trunk Show which tells of her life as a Quilter - The Journey On I Been On – Where I Began – How I Got there – And what Left on my Bucket List.
She is a member of the following:
Royal City Quilters’ Guild
Canadian Machine Quilters' Association
Village Quilters group that meet weekly.
So when Norah is not at her day job, or at Quilt shows, she can be located at home in Cambridge, Ontario, with her daughter, Meaghan and her Australian pups – Max and Hunter; training her tow pups, organizing her next quilt project, quilting on her long arm, designing patterns and enjoying life.
